360° construction site documentation with helmet camera: Site manager digitally records construction progress on the construction site.

New camera integration makes construction documentation faster, more accurate, and easier than ever before

With the new360° camera integration, docu tools opens up a new dimension in digital construction site documentation. Instead of taking hundreds of individual images, in future a single click will be enough to capture an entire room – quickly, completely, and directly located in the plan. The solution was developed in collaboration with customers from the field and combines state-of-the-art camera technology with the intuitive handling that distinguishes docu tools.

One shot. One entire room.

Previously, rooms had to be photographed from multiple angles, files had to be saved, and then manually imported into systems. With the integration ofthe Insta360 X5, this effort is no longer necessary: the camera is directly connected to the docu tools app, automatically transfers new images, and assigns them to the appropriate pins on the digital plan—precisely, quickly, and without manual rework. "Our customers don't want complicated and overpriced systems, they want tools that make their everyday lives easier. That's exactly what we've implemented," explains CEOMaximilian Allmayer-Beck.

Stable. Precise. Practical.

Robustness is crucial for everyday use on construction sites. The camera is attached via a sturdy helmet mount, which ensures shake-free recordings even when moving. Thanks to AI noise reduction and extended dynamic range, it delivers razor-sharp images even in low light conditions. In addition to the X5, docu tools also supports theInsta360 X4andX3 models to enable maximum hardware flexibility. "The combination of powerful hardware and seamless integration was crucial for us. The Insta360 models meet exactly the requirements that matter on a real construction site," adds CTOAlexander Partsch.

One click is all it takes to take a 360° photo, which is automatically saved in the appropriate pin and, after synchronization, is also available in the cloud. This makes it easy to compare progress, changes in the room are visible at a glance, and traceability is significantly increased. The result: a better overview, greater transparency, and less effort in daily documentation.

Simple, fast, and ready to use immediately

Instead of relying on complex specialized solutions, docu tools pursues a clear approach—simple, affordable, and practical.Integration works without additional training, compressed image data is transferred in a few seconds, and a single recording per room is sufficient. The feature is currently available foriOS, withAndroidto follow by the end of the year. "We don't develop from our desks, but together with our customers. The 360° integration is a direct result of this collaboration," emphasizes Allmayer-Beck.

From customer request to market-ready solution

The idea for 360° documentation came directly from construction sites: many customers wanted simpler, faster, and at the same time more complete documentation. docu tools took this need on board, tested it together with pilot customers, and developed it step by step into a market-ready solution. Further features are already planned for 2026, including asplit viewfor directly comparing two 360° photos, for example to analyze progress over several months, and adata protection-compliant face blur function that automatically obscures people's faces.

"The best ideas don't come from meeting rooms, but from construction sites. Our customers know exactly where the daily challenges lie—we listen to them and implement their ideas consistently," says Allmayer-Beck. With its new 360° integration, docu tools brings more speed, precision, and clarity to construction documentation. One click—and you have a view of the entire room. Less effort, more clarity, and documentation that works immediately—in line with the docu tools principle:Everything on track. Everything under control.

Conclusion: 360° photos for a complete overview

With its new 360° integration, docu tools brings greater speed, precision, and traceability to construction site documentation.

One click is all it takes to see the entire room at a glance. The new feature is available as an optional add-on for our Combo and Multi-Tool.
